About Us

Who are we?

The Prince Albert Downtown Business Improvement District (PADBID) is a non-profit corporation established in March of 2004.  Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of property and business persons from within the designated Business Improvement District (BID). In the spring of 2016 Prince Albert City Council created PADBID as a statutory board of the city. This really has not changed the terms of reference or purpose. PADBID simply will be able to access city bulk utility and purchasing along with city accounting services. .One big saving will be our need for an audit. We will be part of the city’s annual return and audit. We also will access to city administration from many departments Our board includes 6 members, made up of property and business owners in our PADBID zone along with one appointed city councillor. We also have committees made up of community volunteers, business, professionals and agencies.

Our neighbourhood is home to over 300 businesses, one quarter of all in Prince albert, which include the following: civic, provincial and federal government offices, financial, institutions, 3 major medias companies, professional firms such as: investment, accounting and legal, quality retail, dinning, 5 art galleries, Historical Museum, E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts, Art classes, visitor accommodation and convention facilities, beauty and personal care, pharmacies, doctors offices and a variety of residential including a number of senior citizen housing complexes, affordable housing options, as well as executive suites.

Our Vision:

  • To have a vibrant and prosperous downtown district.

Our Mission:

To encourage and facilitate the continuing development of a vibrant and prosperous downtown district:

  • By promoting and marketing the area.
  • By undertaking initiatives and projects.

The various initiatives and projects that comprise our annual work plans are executed by the two PADBID staff, Main Street Coordinator, PADBID Board of Directors, Main Street Committee, and the volunteers on the committees formed under the Four Point Approach To Downtown Revitalization.
